DC sent a notice of a new ATM scam.  It seems some ingenious thieves have devised a way to part fools from their money. This is what they do.

1) Jam the ATM slot with black x-ray tape to catch your ATM card.
2) Wait for a chump to get their card stuck.
3) Offer help.
4) Convince the sucker to let the thief enter the pin number while the sucker presses the Cancel / Enter button.
5) The card stays stuck
6) The sucker becomes convinced the card is stuck.
7) The sucker and the thief leave
8) The their return and removes the ATM card trap.
9) The thief reinserts the card and the pin number the sucker gave him
10) The thief cleans out the sucker’s bank account.

So, what to do? Run your fingers over the ATM card slot and feel for tape. If your card becomes stuck report it to the BANK officials and NEVER give your pin number to anyone. 

If a non-bank official offers to help, decline and report the incident to the bank and police.
